SEVERE HEAT WAVE WARNING (11TH TO 18TH APRIL 2023) FOR WEST BENGAL AND NORTHERN INDIA

After a last few years which were generally bearable we are finally reaching a stage where temperatures will go extremely high for a few days. This severe Heat wave will be dangerous but at same time will also be the fuel to cook the further stronger nor wester storms (Kaal Baisakhi)

How hot will it be?

It is expected that in West Bengal some of the western districts may have temperature beyond 42 to 45 Celsius while the temperatures will breach 41 Celsius in Kolkata

How to be safe during the heat wave

There are no certain rules on how you can keep yourself and your loved ones safe during Severe heat wave like this but there are a few things that can be done.

·       Drink lot of water and stay hydrated.

·       Try to avoid going out during the afternoon.

·       If going out in afternoon try to carry and umbrella

·       Try to eat juicy fruits like Watermelon and Cucumber more during this time.

·       Try to shower every day.

·       Wear mostly cottons clothes.

·       Try to avoid deep coloured clothes like black or blue as they absorb more heat.

·       Drink those beverages that has a high content of electrolytes.

What next?

This one week of severe heat wave will cause so much heat in the atmosphere that CAPE (Convective applied potential Energy) will skyrocket high. Which means energy for creation of a thunderstorm will be extremely high. WHICH MEANS THE NEXT THUNDERSTORM WILL BE HEAVY AND VIOLENT
